Re-Elect Steve Bush for Floyd County Sheriff
Steve is a proven leader with decades of law enforcement and administrative experience.
In November 2022, the people of Floyd County placed their trust in Steve Bush to serve as Sheriff with integrity, strength, and a deep commitment to public safety. Since taking office, he has worked tirelessly to protect our community, strengthen the department, and lead with both accountability and compassion. Now, as he seeks re-election in 2026, Steve is asking for your continued support to keep Floyd County safe, proactive, and prepared for the future.In 2022, the voters of Floyd County elected him Sheriff—and he got to work on day one.
Proven Leadership. Real Results.
Under Sheriff Bush’s leadership, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office has:
- Launched the “Change While Incarcerated” Team to expand meaningful inmate programming and rehabilitation efforts
- Equipped patrol vehicles with Narcan, AEDs, and Dechoker devices to enhance life-saving response capabilities
- Restructured Command Leadership to improve operational effectiveness and accountability
- Hosted the REC (Residents Encounter Christ) Event, resulting in inmate baptisms and life-changing faith decisions
- Hired new Police, Corrections, and Dispatch personnel to strengthen staffing and response readiness
- Developed a Jail Officer Promotional Process to create clear career pathways and leadership development
- Restarted the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to target serious and complex criminal activity
- Created a Full-Time Crime Analysis Position to enhance data-driven policing and proactive crime prevention
- Organized leadership training programs to prepare the next generation of department leaders
- Established the Honorary Sheriff’s Posse Program to increase community engagement
- Participated in ISA Summer Camps and numerous community outreach events to build trust and positive relationships
- In recognition of his service, Steve was named Floyd County’s Best Politician (2025–2026) by the New Albany News & Tribune.
